27 weeks! Little miss is the size of a full head of cabbage/lettuce and as tall as an iPad 💚 I can’t believe how quickly time seems to be flying by! She’s VERY active, especially between 930-11pm. Someone is a little night owl like her mom! Seeing her little kicks starting to become physically noticeable is the absolute cutest thing 💞 #maternity #weekbyweekpregnancy

Goodbye July 👋🏼 Whew what a month! I don’t know about you but here in DFW I’m surprised we haven’t all melted into puddles. The heat has been INSANE. I’m praying August will be at least a little cooler? Plleeeeeaaassseee. Some July updates: 1. baby is looking fantastic and weighing a little over a pound at this point. Crazy to look at this photo which was shot back in March and compare to my now (very) round belly and pregnancy weight gain. Right now I’m pretty much wearing dresses bc pants definitely don’t fit and I haven’t really bought any maternity pants other than a pair of leggings 😂 2. I have ONE semester of clinicals left for my doctorate which I’ll do in the spring. I was thankfully able to do them early instead of in the fall when the baby is due. 3. baby’s nursery is coming along nicely! I’m the kind of person that HAS to be as prepared as far ahead as possible. She isn’t due until November but i need things to be finished before then. My anxiety otherwise won’t rest. 4. So many things in the house decided to breakdown within the span of five days in the beginning of the month. Most of that is all finally settled, thankfully. Love being a homeowner until things like this happen 🤣 5. @audrey_oh_art flies in this week to shoot some maternity photos and I CANNOT wait to see the outcome. We’re aiming for dramatic and iconic 🌟 How was your month? What’s up for august?

Some of us (more than we realize) have roots written in varying forms of trauma and pain. That dark past often sews seeds of self-doubt and an overwhelming and crippling fear of the unknown. Roots of pain and trauma dig into our mental health, contribute to feelings of imposter syndrome, and influence self-sabotage. There’s that old adage “grow where you’re planted” but no, let’s toss out that garbage! Sometimes we need to be re-potted. We’ve outgrown our container and need fresh soil. Sometimes we find ourselves in a bed of weeds, suffocating with a need to escape smothering toxicity. One of the most important lessons I learned as a student from a mentor of mine was being able to openly tell a patient that medication and even therapy can only do so much. Are they helpful and often necessary? Absolutely. BUT… Let’s remember that A) you have to embrace the help being given to you, B) you need to be clear on WHAT you’re wanting that help to accomplish, and C) meds and therapy are like a leaky band-aid if you don’t also change your circumstances. Whether those circumstances be a soul-sucking job, a toxic relationship, or some other issue that hampers your growth, REPLANT yourself elsewhere in some way, shape, or form. I once had a job that I loved so incredibly much. The environment, however, was the most toxic setting I’ve ever been in. My health suffered incredibly in so many ways. It took a lot of courage to leave that job and I still hugely beat myself up for it afterwards for feeling like a “failure or weak.” I’m here to tell you though that I wouldn’t be what I am today had I stayed, and my job now is SO REWARDING. Sometimes that fear of the unknown HAS to be quashed in order to bloom. Let that fear be your motivation toward endless possibilities. Channel that self-doubt towards doubting “comfortable” toxicity because it’s the pain you know. You deserve so much more, darling, and I believe in you. Grow some fresh, healthy roots 💞

21.5 weeks (a little late) Little girl is as big as a large banana or the rose from Beauty and the Beast 🌹 her index finger is the size of a tic tac and her foot is as big as a paper clip, aw! I can’t believe we’re now over half way there! The pressure is on to get everything ready to go!

Tomorrow is July?! I’m not going to lie, June has been a tough month for many reasons: National matters, local matters, personal matters. 1. I’m still grieving the loss of Daiquiri. Having her by my side for 16 years and suddenly being without just leaves an emptiness. I miss her getting antsy around 4pm every single day like clockwork, super excited for dinner. How she knew it was that time of day I have zero clue, but it was a certainty and the cutest thing. 2. I’ve been extra grateful for the small moments in life lately. The way the dogs have to burrow in the blankets every night, the little notes Charlie leaves me on a post it every morning before he leaves, the (rare) times Charlie and I make dinner together, or sharing a few twizzlers while watching our shows. 3. My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary earlier this month. It was such a beautiful dinner appreciating such a precious and rare thing. Over half of their lives spent together choosing each other despite the good or bad - how amazing is that? 4. This morning I looked up in the shower and noticed a rather large dark spot in the ceiling which is likely something leaking. Grrrrrreat. Ending the month with a plumbing visit and (hopefully) minimal damage? Ugh I’m nervous. Those are some of my highs and lows of June. Life is all about learning to cope with all of it, right? Each makes the other important and helps us appreciate our own strength. Here’s to hoping for a bright July ❤️ and this throwback photo @audrey_oh_art used for this month’s cover. I LOVED that shoot and that outfit from three years ago. WOW.

It’s officially the first day of summer! Here in Texas I’d call it more like pure misery with 100+ temps every day. I’m throwing back with this image from a couple of summers ago for a campaign with Tazo we didn’t end up using. The energy stills fits except now I’m 20 weeks pregnant and pining for a cold poor even more so! What are your summer plans? Anything fun? Mine includes sno-cones, so at least that’s something 😜 p.s. wear your sunscreen! ☀️ #firstdayofsummer
