Celebrating International Women’s Day with Mon Amie
As a woman and full believer in the power behind our gender, this day, International Women’s Day, is one of the most beautiful of the entire year. There are TONS of events throughout the world dedicated to celebrating women, can you believe it? Fun runs, festivals, conferences, you name it – they’re out there! IWD2018 yall!
Think about the movements that have taken fire as of late – the Time’s Up movement, Press for Progress, Me Too, etc. Each of these has given voice to women throughout the world – saying the TIME IS UP for gender oppression, discrimination, sexual harassment and assault – all of the abominations women have endured throughout the ages. The TENDENCY IS WRONG! How powerful a statement that is.. the tendency to expect less from us, the tendency to tell us how we should live, act, dress, dream, the tendency to put us in an all encompassing box of less.
We have fought with blood, sweat, tears, and even our lives to gain the opportunity to vote, voice in our own healthcare, bodies, and wombs, who or if we marry at all, put a stop to sexual and domestic violence, the right to an education, and raise awareness to the global preponderance of sex trafficking, female genitalia mutilation, or any form of bondage or oppression. Females have said enough to the unrealistic expectations placed on our gender when it comes to body image – for brands and companies to embrace women of all color, race, creed, size, shape, age, etc. Women are fearlessly breaking the gender norms and stomping out that rudimentary “women belong in the kitchen” mentality. YES to our sheroes!
I’ve talked to you guys before about my love for Mon Amie and their dedication to serving the greater needs of the world. I love how there is a day to celebrate women nationally. Women are incredible, strong humans. Everyday we should be celebrated but I am glad that there is one day like today to focus on it. Cheers to all the beautiful woman in the world!

Marvelous dress, everything you have up there compliments anything with you and you can even top it off with a genuine smile!
