Create a Signature Look by Incorporating Jewelry Into Your Accessories!
“Fashions fade, style is eternal”. This is a gem of wisdom from Yves Saint Laurent that many of us should really bear in mind when it comes to curating a look for ourselves. Yes, it may well be fun and games keeping up to date with current trends – Who doesn’t like watching the catwalks or flicking through the lookbook of fashion houses’ latest collections while trying to pinpoint similarities between what’s on offer? Sure, seeing a particular color scheme or print taking the streets by storm can tempt us into incorporating it into our own wardrobes. But at the end of the day, you don’t want to be one of the crowd – or at least I don’t. So, it’s important to add a touch of your own personal style and flair to your overall appearance rather than mimicking whatever is handed to you on a plate. One of the easiest ways to do this is to accessorize with signature pieces. The best way to do this is to invest in some statement pieces of jewelry that can be worn time and time again without feeling overdone. Here are just a few different types to consider.
A Diamond Ring
The crowning glory of women’s jewelry tends to be the diamond. It is referred to so much in pop culture – diamonds are forever; diamonds are a girl’s best friend, etc., etc. It’s not all too surprising that they’re always in high demand. They are elegant, sophisticated, and retain their value majestically. What’s more? Their clarity and lack of color means they will match well into pretty much any outfit that you put together, making them diverse too! So, consider investing in a diamond ring or a subtle yet classic pair of diamond earrings!
Charm bracelets are experiencing a real peak in popularity, so are easier to come by than ever. After all, the more something is desired, the more likely the market is to cater to our wants and needs. Some particularly desired brands include Pandora, Thomas Sabo, Links of London, and even James Avery. But don’t worry about the mass appeal of charm bracelets taking away from their individuality. There are so many charms out there that no two bracelets will usually contain the exact same combination. Each is incredibly personal, telling others a whole story about the wearer’s interest, achievements, and personality.
Birthstones are said to represent the month that you were born in (mine is an amethyst). Every month of the year is assigned its own unique stone. This won’t change, so feel free to invest in the stone that is personal to you! Here’s a list of the different options.
- January – Garnet
- February – Amethyst
- March – Aquamarine
- April – Diamond
- May – Emerald
- June – Alexandrite
- July – Ruby
- August – Peridot
- September – Sapphire
- October – Opal
- November – Citrine
- December – Tanzanite
Watches are also great investment pieces. Whether you’re looking for something classic and timeless or versatile and great for every day wear, there are brands and looks for just about any style and personality. I recently partnered with Porsamo Bleu to wear one of their gorgeous watches. I didn’t have any watches of the silver/stainless steel variety so I was super stoked to add this beauty to my collection.
There are, of course, plenty of other types of jewelry out there on the market. But these are some of the best to incorporate into your accessories!
