I LOVE a good matching set whether it’s a print or a monochrome eye catcher. It takes the guess work out of pulling an outfit together and still looks incredible. After the history-making winter storm that shook the whole of Texas to its core, I don’t think I’ll ever wish for snow ever again. We were incredibly fortunate and never lost power all but for an hour not did we lose or have to boil water or have any burst pipes. My parents, brother and sister in law, and my nephew all live in different cities and none of them were affected either – thank God! Again, I count my blessings we were all safe – that cannot be said for many in the state. So many families suffered and damage is still being repaired a month later. Times like those are when I’m most grateful for my ridiculously over the top disaster prep. If you’re curious how to build one or what to include I wrote it all out here.
Now that the freakish sub zero temperatures are behind us you KNOW I’m itching for warm weather. Charlie and I haven’t had a vacation together in over three years for a variety of reasons. Soon we’re sneaking away for a few days to Cabo. I’ve never been and he’s been a few times for a day or so when he’s flying that particular route (he’s a commercial pilot). We both have been fully vaccinated and cannot wait for a few days to shake off this past year of unprecedented anxiety and the full rollercoaster of the emotional spectrum. I can’t remember the specifics but I know we have to be tested before returning to the states and I think before we head to Cabo. Either way – my soul needs reprieve as I’m sure everyone does too.
