Skincare with Olay | The Moisturizer you MUST add to your regimen!
Disclaimer: the review below is a paid campaign with Olay. All views and opinions are my own.
I used to never use a moisturizer in my daily skincare routine. My skin tends to be on the oily side in the summer and ranges from dry to combination in the winter months. I thought a moisturizer would make my skin more oily but AU CONTRAIRE MON AMI!
Like I previously mentioned, I was highly misguided when it came to skincare. Once I started seeing a dermatologist (because homegirl had some serious teen acne) I was put on the right path of cleansers, toners, etc. This included daily use of a moisturizer. Over the years, my skin has changed which is a natural and expected occurrence from aging … or growing wiser in years as I like to say. Moisturizers do a number of things for your skin, depending on the brand and composition of the product. Today we’re discussing my new bestie, love of loves: Olay Whips: Total Effects.
I’ve been using the product for a little over a week at this point and I’ve already noticed a dramatic increase in the elasticity and overall glow of my skin. Olay Whips: Total Effects adds moisture (obviously) to your skin which in turn helps deliver more vibrant and glowy skin. Added moisture helps with skin elasticity and overall skin hydration. As you grow “wiser in years” this practice helps protect the integrity of your skin and age with grace rather than a shocking set of unannounced wrinkles, no thanks!
I apply moisturizer both morning and night. I’m a 2x a day shower kind of gal and the hotter the better! Did you know hot water actually zaps moisture right out of your skin/hair/etc? To combat my scalding showers, I add Olay Whips: Total Effects to my face, neck, and décolletage once I’m out of the shower, before I start putting on my body lotion. Your wet skin and open pores actually help pull in the product to your skin barriers and pores, or so I find. I also find I need less or no primer before I apply my makeup – an added timesaver in the mornings!
The product is definitely lightweight and fluffier than I had expected. I’m used to moisturizers feeling a bit thick or heavy, but Olay Whips: Total Effects is featherweight and glides easily over my skin. I don’t find my skin feeling “sticky” after applying either – I hate that feeling! Rather I’m left with a dewy glow that makes me feel quite radiant. The quick absorption doesn’t leave me waiting to apply my makeup, another timesaver! The composition of the formula helps oil absorption throughout the day. Has anyone ever experienced that mid-afternoon shine? Yuck! I’m seeing such an improvement in this especially – my T-zone was the worst about showing itself in the afternoons. I don’t know about you but I’d much more welcome the idea of people looking at me because my skin and makeup STILL look amazing late in the day rather than staring because the oil is just oozing from your face, ew.
I must say I’m highly pleased with my skin since incorporating Olay Whips: Total Effects into my skincare routine. I’ve said many times I’m the absolute worst when it comes to drinking enough water (which also does wonders for your complexion) but I feel better about it with Olay Whips: Total Effects to the rescue! Now my winter skin looks radiant instead of peely, tired, and super thirsty!

I think with whip in the title is a real seller. I also have the same combination of skin in the summer and winter as you. Im getting better drinking water but, will take any extra help I can get. I like that this is not heavy and quickly absorbs.

This post sounds exactly like my skin care journey! As someone with oily skin (and teenage acne), I was terrified to use a moisturizer. I also hated the “greasy” feel many gave me. At 34, I’ve finally found a moisturizer I like, however I’m eager to try Olay Whip. I wasn’t fond of their regular product, but the light feeling you describe sounds perfect!

Olay is one of the best out there. I have not heard of whip but I like the idea of it. Moisturizer is something I need to use more often. Thanks for sharing.

I have been using Olay for a number of years and I love this brand. Good moisturizers are never easy to find so when you find a good one, you just have to hold on to it.

February 24, 2018 @ 4:12 pm
omg heard sooo many good things about this new line, i definitely gotta try it!!! next time i’m at CVS 😉
February 24, 2018 @ 5:35 pm
I’ve been skeptical of Olay products and to be honest I am not sure why. I feel they would dry out my skin just as quickly as other brands, I know paying for better quality products would ensure better results. But I think I just might give this one a try.
February 24, 2018 @ 7:03 pm
I love Olay and I need a new moisturizer…looks like this is my next buy! 😀
February 24, 2018 @ 9:50 pm
I have been using Olay for the past two years now. I just love how quickly it gets absorbed quickly and the way my skin feels afterward.

I’ve used products from the Olay brand in the past and really loved it. If this is anything like other products from their brand I know it would work well.
February 24, 2018 @ 11:45 pm
I totally have this product and I’ll be honest and say I don’t use It often enough but I need to because it’s so good!!
February 25, 2018 @ 3:59 am
Great review post you are so detailed. My momloves Olay products and I recently started to enjoy them myself. .I have to try this.
February 25, 2018 @ 6:53 pm
I have a set of Olay skin products here unused and I think I’ll have a rejuvenating session later. Skin care has just so many options but only a handful of products really work for me in the long run.
February 26, 2018 @ 9:53 am
For me, It is important to my skin to have a moisturizer and this Olay total effect whip is super effective for my sensitive skin. I also recommend this to my friends.
February 26, 2018 @ 11:57 am
I totally understand feeling like you don’t need to use primer after you moisturize (my moisturizer is mattifying so it already feels like my primer haha) but still make sure you apply a primer to your face before makeup! It helps your makeup sit on top of your skin instead of soaking in and clogging your pores

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this moisturizer – I really need to give it a try!
March 1, 2018 @ 8:29 am
Olay is one of my favorite brands. I never used moisturizer either, until I went to the dermatologist with severe acne and she recommended Olay over a lot of the more expensive brands.
March 1, 2018 @ 3:11 pm
Olay has been a reliable brand for me ever since I was a teen. I still use some of the same products I did when I was going through my awkward acne (read: puberty) stage. I haven’t tried many of their new products, but I’m always curious about them. I’m always looking for a good moisturizer, and this one looks like a win.
