I have avoided anything remotely western themed for as long as I can remember. Back where I’m from it’s VERY country and just not “me.” The bedazzled jeans, chunky jewelry, and even the pearl snap shirts sent me screaming for a life in the city (Dallas in particular).
It wasn’t until recently that I started embracing the “trend” and loving the new take on western chic. This Veronica Beard dress was enough to shift my perspective and decide to play up the look. Anything I see as a “challenge” perks up my interest not only to see how much I can fall in love with it but also how I can shift the perspective of my audience. Trends come and go but I find that often people shy away from trends simply because they don’t think they can “pull off” the look. Building someone’s confidence up enough to overcome that hurdle is the BEST and I’m always here for it!
Again.. trends are fleeting BUT they make getting dressed so much more fun. They’re a break from our everyday routines and let us step outside our comfort zones, even if just a little. Even these boots are fun just to pair with a simple black or leather pant and a white tee. I did it on a whim one night for dinner and LOVED the result.
Shop the Look
I bought my first pair of cowboy boots this year – well, aside from the ones I wore as a kid. I figured festival szn is fast approaching and they’ll make a fun addition to my outfit themes. I also recently wore these white patent western boots and have totally fallen in love. Any variation on the white boot trend is fabulous in my book.
The bigger message here is to never be afraid to challenge or surprise yourself. Sometimes I find myself clinging to closely to my comforts or habits and then discover I’m missing out on all the fun! Don’t be afraid to try new things, wear new trends, and just have some FUN!
