Does anyone else find this heat draining? Wowee – I simply cannot lately.
Lately I find myself a bit exasperated. First it was suddenly August, now it’s mid-August – time is flying!
It is exciting to say, amidst this insane heat wave, I have finished my last leg of prep work for my DNP application and am FINISHED with school (most recently advanced statistics, ew) until I find out if and when I start my doctorate next year. Fingers crossed!
With this time sudden abundance of time (spent away work) available for fun and not for anything school-related, I find myself feeling somewhat remorseful on missing out on a lot of life, events, etc. in the sacrifice for school and making the grade. On the other hand, I look at all the wonderful events Dallas has to offer soon, and I’m so thrilled to participate! For instance, I have season tickets to the Broadway at the Bass series. Every year, they collectively feature an incredible series of Broadway hits – I highly recommend looking into it if not joining for a show or two. Bass Hall is a breath-taking venue, and a nice little venture outside of Dallas proper. Coming up: The Sound of Music, an instant classic!

For those of you looking for a culinary adventure, I always recommend checking out Trinity Groves. This area is jam-packed with incredible restaurants of all flavors and delights (if you are an insatiable sweet tooth like myself, check out Cake Bar & Kate Weisler Chocolate). All I can say is YUM.

My outfit deets: All from L Bartlett! Loving this rusty yellow eyelet top, very airy and pair-able with jeans. The shorts are amazing, incredibly light (it was 105 outside in these photos!) Booties are by Chinese Laundry.. so in love with them! The fun fringed cross-body purse by Rebecca Minkoff I actually snagged at Neiman’s but have found similar and other colors at many other stores. This outfit is so fun, I’ll definitely be wearing again!
